Congratulations – you’re expecting! Few things in life are as exciting – or as overwhelming – as having a baby. St. John Owasso is here to assist you and make your pregnancy and birth experience as comfortable and memorable as possible. The LifeStart team includes obstetricians, specially trained nurses, obstetrical technicians, trained educators, nurse assistants, certified lactation consultants, and pediatricians.
Each spacious labor and delivery room feature home-like accomodations to make your stay more comfortable and add special warmth. There’s even a comfy sofa for your support person. It is in this room that new moms will labor and deliver their new bundles of joy.
After delivery, babies are taken briefly to the newborn nursery for a comprehensive health assessment while mothers recover in comfortable post-partum rooms. All of St. John Owasso’s post-partum rooms are private and spacious enough to accommodate friends and family members who stop by for a visit. Our post-partum rooms even have an extra bed for your support person, who is invited to stay with you. We welcome you to keep your baby in your room with you during your hospital stay. However, our experienced staff would be happy to care for your baby when you need time to rest.
During your in-hospital recovery period, our team helps ensure that your questions are answered. Our certified lactation consultants are available to assist in your breastfeeding efforts, and our experienced nursing staff will make sure you go home comfortable about how to care for your new baby. Our Breastfeeding Resource Center is available to assist you with breastfeeding after you go home. This is a free service to all new families regardless of where they deliver their baby.
