RECENT AWARDS
St. John Health System
St. John Health System was honored with Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services’ (DRS) Community Partner of the Year award. St. John was recognized for participation in Project SEARCH, an on-the-job training program that helps Oklahoma high school seniors with disabilities develop marketable skills and confidence.
St. John Health System was recognized as the second highest Tulsa-area fundraising company for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, raising more than $55,117. St John Health System was honored as the most improved company for fundraising, increasing donations from 2010 by 77 percent. St. John was also inducted into the American Heart Association $50,000 club.
St. John Medical Center
St. John Medical Center was ranked #1 in the Tulsa metropolitan area in U.S. News Media & World Report’s 2011-12 Best Hospitals ranking. The rankings showcase 720 hospitals out of about 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Each is ranked among the country’s top hospitals in at least one medical specialty and/or ranked among the best hospitals in its metro area.
St. John Medical Center was also named by Oklahoma Magazine as one of the state’s “Best of the Best” hospital facilities.
St. John Broken Arrow
St. John Broken Arrow was recognized as a Det Norske Veritas (DNV)-accredited hospital after its inspection by the international organization’s review group. DNV’s accreditation is based on strict quality standards and signifies adherence with the Medicare Conditions of Participation, and integration with the ISO 9001 quality management system.
St. John Heart Institute
- St. John Cardiac Rehabilitation
St. John Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program was named a certified program through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The designation recognizes St. John’s efforts in continued promotion of health and preventing disease.
- Cardiovascular Imaging
St. John Heart Institute Cardiovascular Imaging (CVI) was reaccredited for a three-year term in both peripheral vascular and echocardiography labs. CVI underwent a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) and the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
St. John Stroke Center
The St. John Stroke Center received a 2011 national Power Award from the American Stroke Association. Power To End Stroke is an aggressive education and awareness campaign that embraces and celebrates the culture, energy, creativity and lifestyles of African Americans. It unites African Americans to reduce the high incidence of stroke within their communities.
LaFortune Cancer Center
The LaFortune Cancer Team was recognized as "Rookie Team of the Year" at the 2011 American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
St. John Center for Women’s Health
St. John Center for Women’s Health and its LifeStart program were voted as TulsaKids Magazine’s 2011 “best place for pre- and post-natal classes.”
St. John Breast Center
The St. John Breast Center was the only imaging center in Tulsa to be named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy). Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and trained medical physicists, determined the St. John Breast Center achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
St. John Siegfried Health Club
St. John Siegfried Health Club was named as one of Oklahoma Magazine’s “Best of the Best” in the top health club category.
Nursing
Oklahoma Hospital Association recognized the following individuals with Spirit Awards, which are given annually to exceptional individuals in the hospital community whose exemplary leadership and dedication have significantly enhanced patient care, their organizations or their communities. St. John’s 2011 honorees included Rosemary Holderman, St. John Medical Center; Chere Ricker, St. John Sapulpa; Vickie Blair, St. John Broken Arrow; and Sue Parnell, St. John Owasso.
The Oklahoma chapter of the March of Dimes awarded St. John Health System nurses Larcile White, Megan Gregg and Kelly Spann as recipients of the 2011 Oklahoma March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award. Six additional St. John Health System nurses were award finalists including Sunny Bray, Donna Longfield, Mary Martin, Gaye Rotramel, JoAnn Rushenberg and Brenda Sanders.
Radiology
St. John Medical Center was officially accredited by the American College of Radiology in three imaging modalities including PET, nuclear medicine and ultrasound. St. John Radiology’s 81st and Memorial location was recognized as American College of Radiology accredited in CT, MRI, ultrasound and mammography.
St. John Green Team
The St. John Health System received the 2011 Blue/Green Giant Award at the Tulsa Business Journal's second-annual Blue/Green Awards. St. John won for Green Team and maintenance facility programs of recycling, and energy and material use reduction.
OMNI Medical Group
Four OMNI physicians were selected by Oklahoma Magazine’s “Best Doctors in Oklahoma” list. The list of 372 physicians in 62 specialties was featured in the 2011 October issue of Oklahoma Magazine.
