Community Health Fair
St. John Owasso is joining forces with Smith Farm Marketplace to promote healthy lifestyles in the Owasso community at the fourth annual Community Health Fair. The event, which takes place Oct. 9, will be held at Smith Farm Marketplace, located on 96th Street North west of Highway 169. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
St. John Owasso will host free screenings and offer health information in conjunction with other St. John Health System service lines. Smith Farm Marketplace restaurants will showcase healthy menu items with free samples, and retailers will offer sales and specials during the event.
“We are proud to work with Smith Farm Marketplace to inform the community about healthy lifestyle choices,” said David Phillips, St. John Owasso chief executive officer. “The best thing a person can do for themselves is to stay knowledgeable about their health.”
Designed to make important health information easily accessible to the community, all activities, screenings and information are free to the public. The fair will have exciting things for the whole family to enjoy. For the young ones, there will be a Teddy Bear Clinic and Jupiter jump. Adults can donate blood at the Red Cross Blood drive that will be onsite.
Free services and screenings available at the event include:
• Blood pressure screenings
• Flu Prevention information
• Physician and nurse consultations
• Grip-strength training
