Benefits of being a St. John hospitalist is support from high quality mid-level providers, PA admission coordinators, discharge nurse coordinators, and an after-hours mid-level call program. The St. John Hospitalist Program is unique in that St. John hospitalists collaborate and care for all patients along with primary care physicians. Variation in census is accounted for and managed by adjusting the flow of unassigned patients to a team. Unassigned patients account for about 25 percent of the average daily census. Teams are capped to unassigned admissions at a census of 15.
